EXPOSED WORK 2018-2021

AIN’T NORMAL ENOUGH - 2021 100 x 81 cm Stucco, paint, RGB led - It takes courage to be different, likewise to be strange. If you don't act like others you will always have a magnifying glass, ready to judge and sometimes study you. Maybe someone will try to diagnose you with any disorder, not caring about their own normalcy. Perhaps, it is the mere awareness of this magnifying glass that makes us normal and equal among ourselves.
THE ANGLER - 2021 81 x 100 cm Stucco, paint, RGB led - A fisherman of dreams, in a sea of ideas. The important thing is to be patient and enjoy the view.
FREE FALL - 2021 100 x 108 cm Stucco, paint, RGB led - The pyramids, the goal of Santiago. How many times they have seemed very far away and how many times they have made him fall. And yet, in the end, his personal legend recovered him.
FREE SOLO - 2021 74 x 74 cm Stucco, paint, RGB led - free solo, the climbing that each of us must do within ourselves, alone, without- za ropes and safety systems. Hoping not to fall or get stuck somewhere from which there seems to be no way up or down.

CHAINS & ROOTS - 2021 100 x 107 cm Stucco, paint, RGB led - "They can put them on or they can grow from the roots. You can be the one to grow or they can be the one to shorten. We can feel free but I still haven't quite figured out if we can really be free. The origin from doubt: why do individuals, all or most, tend to be bound and limited to something, even natu- rally speaking? That feeling the reader feels during Joyce's "Dubliners" or Verga's "I Malavog- lia." On the one hand paralysis and on the other the cycle of the vanquished. If you can't describe it in words then put it on canvas."
PUFFY EYES - 2019 61 x 139cm Stucco, paint, RGB led - Not much to say, a sincere cry that comes from the heart. The sincere kind where the Tears never seem to end. Perhaps because, after all, they are not just tears.

HEART REACHERS - 50 x 70 cm Wood | Canvas Stucco Acrylic paint LED Rome, 2018 - "The divinity cannot have contact with or concern itself with the world, since being the ultimate reality it cannot occupy itself with a lower reality; therefore, it acts only as an object of desire and love, like the beloved attracting the lover." - Aristotle Like Aristotle's unmoved mover, the heart sculpted on the canvas attracts two robust hands that diligently try to reach it. The incessant beating of the heart during life functions as a motor, not unmoved, but autonomous, depending on its own action for all surrounding movements. The sculpted heart, from whose cracks beams of light pass through, materializes as a person, an idea, a dream, a hope.

LET ME DREAM IN PEACE - 2021 200x110cm Stucco, paint, RGB led- "Let me dream, let me dream in peace," says Samuele Bersani, in Giudizi Universali. Live small that you live better, fly low that if you fall then you get hurt, don't take it seriously it's just a dream, as I'm often told. But if I don't take my dreams seriously what should I take seriously? I have never understood the effort many people put in to keep other people's minds on the ground, almost touching the asphalt, for their own personal enjoyment. Let me dream, let me dream in peace, and most of all, let me be wrong, let me be wrong in peace. I will miss a thousand dreams but maybe I will catch one, and if I catch none then at least I will have run and seen new things. I will not have stood still. I am not afraid of suffering I am afraid of living half-heartedly, I am afraid of regretting what I have not done, I am not afraid of failure. I will choose more and more impossible dreams until the first ones no longer seem a triviality. I want to run so much in the air to the point that if I fall I will end up in the sea. Sometimes, someone's fear of living takes the air out of me, but they say it's part of running, of chasing dreams. I love to live and with nooses I go there to hunt dreams. Let me dream, let me dream in peace.
DREAM INCUBATOR - 2018 50 x 50 cm Stucco, paint, RGB led - autobiographical portrayal: climbing the frightening mountain that of childhood, tackled only by cultivating one's dreams. As in an incubator, to face the nightmares of the first years of life. A backpack getting lighter and lighter, a backpack full of dreams and sensitivity.
BABSI - 2019 80x100cm Stucco, paint, RGB led - Babsi, full name Babette Döge, one of the main characters in the film The Berlin Zoo Boys. She was hospitalized for detoxification in Tübingen and Berlin because of a liver affected by hepatitis and heroin addiction. Her story became famous for being the youngest drug victim in the Western world. The symbol of an abandoned generation.
SNAKE AND LADDER - 2021 100 x 108 cm Stucco, paint, RGB led - Snake and Ladder, a board game famous among children in the UK. In its simplicity it is played with a die and numbered squares, in a race to see who can get to the last square first. Between the squares are ladders and snakes: when you meet the first you advance to the top, when you meet the second you are slid to the bottom, to the lowest squares, and from there you have to start again. I always thought it was a beautiful metaphor for life. Yet, there is no one to speak of those who want to steal your ladder, or worse, the loneliness at the end of the snake's tail.
BREATH LOST - 50 x 70 cm Wood | Canvas Stucco Acrylic paint LED - Rome, 2018 A lost child, like many, in a breath. A big hand tries to save him, to save those like him, but the two do not meet. Sometimes things need to be breathed in order to experience them, while sometimes we get lost while living them.
PLASTER MIND - 100 x 100 cm Wood | Canvas Stucco Acrylic paint LED Rome, 2018 - Plaster mind, a stucco mind. The stucco on canvas is more malleable than playdough, indestructible, and at the same time extremely modifiable. However, when it starts to dry and age, it becomes stone-like, until it cracks. From these cracks and its fragility, however, emerges the most beautiful part, the light. A stucco mind is continuously modified by everything, it dries, cracks, and then starts over. Yet, it responds to one soul and tries to listen to one heart.
